SOUTH BURLINGTON — The Vermont Association of Chiefs of Police announces that the Vermont Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial Ceremony will be held this afternoon.
Monday, May 14 from 2-3 p.m.

The Vermont Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial honors those who have lost their lives in the line of duty. During this year’s ceremony, officers from throughout Vermont will pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and place a flower in the memorial wreath for each name called.
Since 1900, 25 officers from Vermont have died while serving their community with the last line of duty death occurring in 2015. Nationwide, 135 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty in 2017.
The ceremony will include remarks from Governor Phil Scott and Attorney General TJ Donovan.
